Dr. Jian Liu is an associate professor
in the Department of Systems and
Industrial Engineering at the University
of Arizona. He received the B.S. and
M.S. degrees in Precision Instruments
& Mechanology from the Tsinghua
University, China in 1999 and 2002,
respectively; the M.S. degree in
Industrial Engineering, the M.S. degree
in Statistics and the Ph.D. in
Mechanical Engineering and Industrial
and Operation Engineering, all from the
University of Michigan in 2005, 2006 and
2008, respectively.
Dr Liu's research is in the integration
of manufacturing engineering knowledge,
control theory and advanced statistics
for product quality and productivity
improvement. His recent research focuses
on system prognostic/diagnostic modeling
and analysis and risk management through
analyzing massive high-dimensional
datasets.
Dr. Liu is a member of the Institute for
Operations Research and Management
Sciences (INFORMS) and the Institute of
Industrial Engineering (IIE).
