Dec 11, 2008: Two optional reviews for Exam 5 will be held Monday, December 15 and Tuesday, December 16 at 5:00PM in room ECE 250.
Dec 01, 2008: Exam 4 The Sequel: For Exam 4, students may select a problem for which they attempted but did not receive full credit and submit a revised answer by Friday, Dec 5 (beginning of lecture, 12:05pm). The revised answer should be stapled as a separate page on top of the student's graded Exam 4. Students will receive 50% credit for the resubmitted problem up to a maximum equal to the number of points the student missed for the selected problem. In other words, this is not an opportunity for extra credit.
Nov 20, 2008: Homework 5 assignment has been posted and is due Wednesday, Dec 10 at the beginning of lecture (by 12:05).
Nov 17, 2008: An optional review for Exam 4 will be held Thursday, November 20 at 5:00PM in room ECE 250.
Nov 12, 2008: The Verilog code for the high-level state machine discussed in lecture this past Monday is available here: HLSMEx.v. Note that this is a Verilog implementation of the high-level state machine for Design Challenge 1.
Oct 31, 2008: Design Challenges will begin begin next week with the first design challenge due Wed Nov 05. The design challenges will replace homework assignments for Chapter 5 and will be due at the beginning of lecture on each posted date. A total of 10 design challenges will be assigned, but you will only need to complete 8 of those design challenges to receive full credit.
Oct 28, 2008: An optional review for Exam 3 will be held Thursday, October 30 at 5:00PM in room ECE 250.
Oct 08, 2008: Homework 4 assignment has been posted and is due Monday, Oct 27 at the beginning of lecture (by 12:05).
Oct 08, 2008: Optional homework 3 assignment has been posted. The solutions for this optional homework will be posted Monday, Oct 27.
Oct 02, 2008: The solutions for Homework 3 contained an error for problem 3.15, in which the waveform for the output of the D latch was incorrect. The solutions have been corrected and uploaded.
Sep 30, 2008: An optional review for Exam 2 will be held Thursday, October 02 at 5:00PM in room ECE 250 (tentative location).
Sep 17, 2008: Homework 3 assignment has been posted and is due Friday, Sep 26 at the beginning of lecture (by 12:05).
Sep 16, 2008: A note on lab assignments: While you can work on your lab assignments outside of your scheduled lab section, your pre-lab assignments and demonstrations are due in your scheduled lab section during the appropriate week. You may turn in your assignments early - provided space is available within another lab section - but you cannot turn them in during a later lab section. The primary purpose of the lab sections is for you to get instruction and assistance from your TA and to receive grades for your lab assignments (i.e. pre-labs and demos).
Sep 10, 2008: An optional review for Exam 1 will be held Thursday, September 11 at 5:00PM in room ECE 250 (tentative location).
Sep 05, 2008: Your first exam will take place Monday, Sep 15 at the beginning of lecture.
Sep 05, 2008: Homework 2 assignment has been posted and is due Wednesday, Sep 10 at the beginning of lecture (by 12:05).
Sep 05, 2008: Optional Homework 1 assignment has been posted. The solutions for this assignment will be posted Wednesday, Sep 10.
Aug 31, 2008: Note: Homework assignments should be turned in lecture at the beginning of lecture (after 12:05 it will be considered late) on the date the assignment is due. If you would like to turn your assignment in early, you can always drop it off in my mailbox (which is located on the second floor of the ECE building) or slide it under my office door.
Aug 29, 2008: Homework 1 assignment has been posted and is due Wednesday, Sep 03 at the beginning of lecture (by 12:05).
Aug 25, 2008: Lab Section 2 (T 8:00AM-10:50AM) and Section 8 (F 2:00PM-4:50PM) have been canceled. All students have been moved to other lab sections. If you were previously enrolled in either of those lab sections, please check your enrollment to ensure you are currently enrolled in a lab section that fits your schedule.
