Instructions for installing SIMEQMWM

SIMEQMWM is a program that I wrote to solve simultaneous (matrix) equations with complex numbers. It works on TI-83 and TI-84 calculators.

You can install the program following the instructions below.

1) Right-click the following link: SIMEQMWM.8xp

a. Save the file in a suitable location on your computer.

2) Search the Internet for TI Connect Software. Download and install it on your computer. Note: If you have problems with TI Connect, try TI Connect CE. It is probably best to uninstall one before installing the other.

3) Connect your calculator to your PC with the appropriate USB cable. If you have a TI-83, the USB cable is very non-standard. You can get one online, Example.

4) Make sure your calculator is turned on.

5) Start the TI Connect Software.

6) Click the icon labeled “Send to TI Device.”

7) Click “Browse” and locate the file SIMEQMWM.8xp that you downloaded previously. Select it and click “Open.”

8) A window will open entitled “Select TI Device.” Click on the one corresponding to your calculator, and click “Select.”

9) Click “Send to Device.”
