Bond Graphers and Art

Letter from Jan van Dixhoorn to François Cellier.

Hello François,

It's over ten years ago that we met for the last time, when I was still an active bondgrapher. Your professional life has changed a lot in these years and I enjoy the messages I get regularly from Peter Breedveld, when he is coming for lunch each month. You are doing very well in Arizona and I appreciate to hear that you are a binding factor in the (bond graph) modeling community. It is fun for me to be on your mailing list, though I am too far from the subject to be of any help. Over 20 years ago I decided to take my painting aspirations seriously and took lessons at the Art School and worked weekly with two professional painters, mainly on portraits. After my teaching period at MIT with Hank Paynter my subject changed towards more abstraction, influenced at that time by the American Abstract Expressionism (Pollock, de Kooning c.s.). After retirement I now paint each morning daily; this rhythm in life is good.

Half a year ago I decided to buy a multimedia computer to be able to expose regularly some work on internet. It took a lot of mental work and consequently many hours without sleep, but most problems are solved now.

If you are interested you can see it on www.vandix.demon.nl.

I would appreciate it if you mentioned my URL in your bondgraph news letter; old friends can make contact by typing a message in the homepage. I hope to hear from you and send you many greetings. JAN.
