Is the Temperature Higher or Lower???

Heat is transferred from the steak to the plate (from hot to cold). This raises the temperature of the plate and lowers the temperature of the steak, which ends up putting both the steak and the plate at the same temperature. If the plate starts at a warmer temperature, then when it warms up more from the hot steak, it will end up at a higher temperature than before.
